This is my second bayonet made by the Union Fork and Hoe Company for the M1 Garand back in WWII. The other is the long 16" version. This is the most common length for M1 Garand bayonets in WWII but one of the less common manufacturers. There are 3 versions of the UFH bayonet, 16", 10" and the 16" shortened to 10".
In photo #2 you can see the important part which is "UFH" stamped on the base of the blade along with the flaming bomb. A lot of people post knives with no markings. Don't buy those 99.9% no collector value.
It came with the wrong scabbard which I am trying to ID. I was going to get the price down if I let the seller keep it but I figure it has so value.
Last photo is both my UFH bayonets along with the right scabbard. Sorry about that annoying light refection on the blade.
Thank you very much Ms.CrystalShip. I see a fair ammount at the large antique fleas but this one not so much.
