Some rainbow glass to celebrate Sydney's 43rd annual Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, taking place on Saturday March 6.
This iconic event began as a protest march in 1978...& has grown to be Sydney's own unique festival of pride.
This year it's different, without the usual parade down Oxford Street...but it's still going to be fabulous.
Different times call for creativity!
So in the spirit of being fabulous, what's more appropriate than stunning Victorian art glass in rainbow colours...oh, & little old me with my Murano glass sword... :-)
The rainbow glass is beautiful, but the glass word is mind blowing! It appeals to the imagination in much the same way as the glass walking stick......an English oddity!
Beautiful!!
I like the whimsical glass items as well-- sword, stick, shoes....

Beauitiful Pieces! Have fun on Saturday!!
Happy Gras, MARIN !!!.!!!.!!!
Once again, a lovely assortment of choice pieces from your collection, IronLace.
Thanks so much, Peggy! I'm pretty sure that all this rainbow glass is of English origin...perhaps Stevens & Williams, but not 100% certain.
I'm glad that you're enjoying the sword, too - it is about to celebrate 25 years in my collection next month!
I would LOVE to add one of those magical Victorian glass walking sticks to my collection as well...but they are SO rarely seen here. I saw one back when I was a very poor art student & it was way beyond my resources at the time...never seen one again...
Many thanks, Scott! Whimsical glass is pure magic!
Thanks so much, jscott0363!
