Looks like something you've driven over in a driveway doesn't it? This is a nice bright example of a Sterling Hill Ogdensburg fluorescent mineral. This one glows under short wave ultraviolet lighting.
Hey scandinavian_pieces,I don't mind at all.I've always liked odd things to begin with.I love a good treasure hunt.To me these pieces like the uranium glass hold a hidden treasure. My great uncle worked in the Franklin mines on the picking table many years ago.My family had some of these rocks in our attic for many years and although we didn't have a short wave light (fairly expensive) I would take these out and look at them, knowing there was a hidden treasure in every piece. When Mom sold the house she gave them to me.Then I moved to Franklin and aquired a light and started actively collecting, mainly old collection pieces.
Thanks vintagemad and Bluemamma !! Yeah scandinavian_pieces I am a total nature freak and some of these came from family which makes them especially valuable to me! Thanks !
