This cut glass vase is 8.5" high and varies from 3-3.5" in diameter. It weighs 2.5 lbs and the base flares out slightly. I found this at a high end used furniture store in the mid 2000s. The store mostly sold really nice period used furniture, but also accessories like original oil paintings, lamps and some pottery and glass. The owners were a married couple who were very knowledgeable, had impeccable taste and catered to people who had money. This vase had a pretty hefty price tag on it. I noticed, however, that it had a large chip missing on one corner of the base and pointed it to the wife of the couple. She gave me a horrified look and said, "Oh we don't sell damaged items! You can just have it." Sold. Er, well, disposed of then to someone not too discerning to own something that is damaged. I actually use it as a door stop as it is fairly hefty and will not slide around if laid on its side. I was wondering if anyone (TallCakes) might know something about it? Just came across it today while putting the screen in my front door in preparation for Spring.
sorry, no ideas on make but does look to possibly have some age...
Beautiful etched daisy design, nice one
Very elegant and sleek, it seems to have such a lovely pale lilac hue to it! It also sounds like you got a bargain with this one here! :P
Thanks for taking a look TallCakes!
