    Ceramic Bowl by Federigo Fabbrini
    Italy, circa 1955
    7.5" tall

Federigo Fabbrini was born in Arezzo in 1928. After studying architecture he gained experience at some ceramic factories in Sesto Fiorentino, Montelupo Fiorentino and at Marcello Fantoni's laboratory in Florence. In 1958 he opened his own studio called "Fabbrini Ceramiche", in via di Castelbonsi 10 in San Casciano in the province of Florence, together with his wife Tina Aginari, and invited Nanni Valentini and Franco Bucci to work with him.

From 1969 to 1973 he collaborated as a designer with the "Villeroy & Boch" factory, for which he created, among other things, the "Bomba" table furniture, now preserved at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, sharing the experience with Franco Bucci. From 1973 onwards he returned to work in his studio in San Casciano where he made small series of ceramics, often inspired by the magical world of fairy tales, and ceramics for use and furnishing, forged on a lathe, in clay for soft stoneware. In 1993 he closed his business but continued to deal with ceramics, collaborating with Bruno Gambone and Brunella Sciulli.

During his career he exhibited several times at exhibitions in Faenza, Gubbio and Ostend and since the 1980s his works have been exhibited in Franco Bucci's "Pesaro Laboratory" in Strada Romagna 145 in Pesaro. Federico Fabbrini died in Florence in 2007.
