These are my "shooting star" or comet brooches I collected a few years ago. The one on the upper right, kind of a pave rhinestone set of 3 stars, was the first one I bought. It started my idea of collecting on this theme. Next may have come the mixed metal one below it. The upper left very layered, elaborate rhinestone one is from a company called "Sweet Romance". Someone was wearing one like it in the library where I worked and I asked if they knew the maker. Then I hunted this one down on eBay. My pride and joy of all, however, is the lower left one with the blue rhinestone. I think this was likely made in 1910 when Halley's Comet caused a huge sensation in society. Many comet themed items, including jewelry like this, were made. It was a lucky find at a flea market. Thank my lucky stars! --Andrea
Terrific multistar brooches, particularly love the one with rhinestone baguettes - they must be fun to wear on firework holidays like the 4th & New Year's
Good idea on the "fireworks" holidays Jenni!
