A beautiful new glass vase (well new to me), but what does the writing on the bottom say? I'm picking it's Japanese (duh it is Dolphin glass with that pontil mark). Maybe the Japanese glass Guru Racer4four knows? Yes it is a bit lopsided!

      Sorry, late to the party!
      I can't read Japanese writing, a big negative when I research :(
I agree Dolphin and possible made by Hokuyo. The writing is likely about a business anniversary or award as glass was often given as corporate gifts.

Blast I hoped you would know, never mind thanks for the information here and elsewhere. I thought with all the Japanese glass I have posted especially today I would flush you out sooner or later :)
