I found this little beauty in shop that has many vendors. This particular vendor was going out of business and I picked this up because I thought it was just unique. I love the painting and it looked old but the one thing I noticed was that the painting was on the outside of the glass.
Now those of you who know me, know that I am a little… Well, let’s just say we all know I’m a little late to the party. So it took me about two months before I figured out that this was probably meant to be a reversed paining that was framed incorrectly I’ll be at a long long long time ago.
That is, if I’m correct. And, those of you who know me, know that I am rarely that, either.
????????????????
So I would love your take on it friends! It sure is a beautiful piece. Unsigned except for the back which looks to read Elizabeth Moss????
Thank you so much!
Have you removed it from the frame to check the other side?
Interesting :-)
It is a painting ON glass, not a reverse reverse painting!
If it was reverse painting, the details are the first touches the painter does, then add the backgrounds. On yours you can see all the details on the front ;-)

Marvelous, KYra! And thank you so much for the link! It’s such a lovely piece. The brush strokes alone are so detailed and sure. I didn’t know what to think of it! I did olen the back-oh so carefully-and found a piece of pearlescent paper. I closed it immediately. I don’t have a gentle touch and things seem to come apart in my hands so I try to touch things as little as humanly possible. ????
