Turning Japanese now with 4 beautiful Sanyu vases, well I think they are all Sanyu one has the makers label and all 4 have the same shape and finish. kwqd had a similar green/orange one but with a concave bottom which racer4four thought was Marumi Fantasy Glass, did the Japanese copy each other? Unfortunately the dark green and blue one has a small bruise but the person I got it off refunded me some of the buy price when I pointed it out. The green and amber with the metal inclusions is the tallest at 340mm.
Nice vases. For those not familiar with Japanese art glass, Narumi Fantasy Glass was a line of glass made by Sanyu Glass. I am told that there is a very active Japanese art glass group on FaceBook, but I don't use FB.
Thanks kwqd for the nice comments and clarification , I read the post and comments on your vase and got the impression they were different companies. I also don't use FB so I'll miss any of that.
Such nice Sanyu, all of them!
I think the blueish one were later production than the others.
If you look you may see that the green/amber has tinges of blue in the base colour. Sanyu seemed to use blue to mix with the amber for the green to appear.
I like that the two orange/greens are slightly different. Isn't that great when we can see differences in hand made things!
