    Wicker Piggy Bank

    6 1/2" x 5"

Picked up this cool wicker Piggy bank today. This one..money goes in, but it is not coming out. I just noticed, it has an angry face..now I like it even more!

It will look good with my other banks. Strangely I have a leather, brass, chrome and wicker banks but no ceramic one yet. Have to find the right one.

This one..money goes in, but it is not coming out.
**UPDATE** Thanks to a helpful CW member, I now know that the nose does come off to get the money! Thank you for the information!(see comments)**

1960's (Probably) Shanghai. The ears are bamboo, eyes glass. Feet wood. His nose should come off to get money out. Some of those Shanghai woven wicker animals are amazing!

This one is so cute with his angry face. The maker must have been having a bad day!

@dav2no1 - what is that ADORABLE thing in your hand?? A long haired MOUSE??
    5. dav2no1 dav2no1, 4 years ago
Yes, that is Shaggymouse. He has helped change many a people's mind about domesticated mice as pets. I own and ran..a Yahoo Groups Rodent based forum for 15+ ..actually it's still somewhere..where ever yahoo groups ended up... rodent genomes are quite interesting and very close to ours.

dav2no1 - Shaggy is TOO adorable! I love rodents as pets. I think I can say I have NEVER seen a long haired mouse before! He is just sweet!

If you search long haired fancy mice, you will not find a better example than Shaggymouse. He had the color and sheen. His har was long and straight. And...his demeanor was absolutely amazing. He loved to be handled. He was an ambassador for the mouse world. It's hard to not smile when you see pictures of him. Of all the mice I've raised(hundreds+), he is still my favorite.
