I have collected stereoviews for over 20 years. During that time I have owned rare and expensive Civil War views, but I have always found the Spanish American War/ Phillipine Insurrection views to be my favorites.
This view is probably the most iconic one of that era. It shows Colonel Theodore Roosevelt of the famous Rough Riders on his horse after his return from Cuba.
The view is from 1898 and is published by Underwood& Underwood.

My grandfather was personally recruited by TR to join the Rough Riders, but was rolled on by a horse, and suffered back injuries at a fort in Florida.., thereby making him ineligible for it...Probably best , cause had he made it, I may not be here today..
Thanks Sagehopper-- thanks for sharing your family story!

Thanks tlmbaran. I think this is the BEST TR photo out there. I have several copies of this stereoview.

I've been looking for one of these stereoviews....
This site is not for buying or selling.
Check ebay-- they come up on a regular basis. Usually they are in the $50- $100 range, as this particular view is VERY popular. If you look long enough you will find one for less.
Good luck!

I know, just seeing if anyone had info one where I could find one, I'll just keep my eye on Ebay for awhile, thanks for the advice ;)
Good luck in your search.
I may be your competition-- I buy them regularly when they go cheap!
