    Found this while metal detecting in an area where items from the 1800s (not saying its that old) have been found. Maybe a pocket watch cover or a makeup compact? The OD is 2-1/4" anyone know what this is?

      Most likely a compact.

      I've had several people tell me that it was likely a snuff box as well.
