This ruler was my Dad's and I choose to keep some of his tools when he passed away. I spent a lot of time with dad in his work shop this is why this silly little ruler is special. Gosh tearing up as I write this. Anyway I am interested in the age of this. I have noted so far that Stanley were making these up to 1950's. Now my Dad was from the Netherlands and come to Australia only in 1955. I note that the ruler has the word English stamped on it. Could it be that it was purchased in Europe specifically with the English/American/Australian measurement standard. It is highly likely that as it was small - it might have been one of the few tools that migrated with Dad.
Stanle made rules like this using the Metric measuring system. For instance, folding rul #6s had both English and Metric markings. Ënglish" on yours may refer to the measurement system
Thank you Congcu. This ruler does only have English imperial measurements ( no metric)
