Beautiful colour on this one!!! I love the sugary colour on her and her fabulous shape, it's so elegant, but aside from a lack of comb she reminds me of a rooster?! Very nice!

Was Royal Hickman the designer that did pottery too?
      This is the sweetest hen.

my understanding is that these pieces with the HCA mark were commissioned by the Heisey Colletor's Club and made by Fenton, which included a whole collection of Heisey animals

Thanks Scott for the super compliment, she is quite a pretty hen with her curves & pink coloring

Phil thanks so much for your great praise, I was lucky to find this for my collection as don't have many of this type animal, plus it was a limited production so a rare find - love the color too

Thank you Lauren for your lovely words, this pink-white color does have rather a cotton candy look! She really does appear to be strutting like a rooster, also with the puffed neck reminds me of a pouter pigeon

Thank you FreshAir for your really kind comment and liking all the attributes of this hen, I figured Easter is a good time to post an animal in the chick family :)

Karen thank you for your wonderful comment & great question about Hickman. Most of the online info connects him to Haeger pottery, he was with them from 1939 thru 1944 then freelanced for them, and his best known work was the black panther. Because he was known for his art deco style, I have to believe he is the same artist that did Heisey animals in the 40s-50s, there is actually a Heisey glass tiger aka panther in the deco style, I have posted it here in yellow satin

Thank you TallCakes for the HCA clarification and the link, I actually did know they commissioned the rosalene series for Fenton in 92 but for the life of me could not find the HCA & F logo on the piece, I just searched for it & found it practically hidden in the animal's underbelly! I have updated the description accordingly

Elisabeth & Mani, thank you both so much for loving this pink & white glass hen, it is so thoughtful of you and I am very grateful.

Thanks too Elisabeth for the sweet compliment, the hen is blushing a deeper shade of pink at the praise :)
