My official Easter item here is a Peter Rabbit coloring book (they called it a painting book) from long ago. The copyright date is 1913. Note that Beatrice Potter did not get a copyright in the US so gets no credit.
This is called a painting book and on the inside it does say to paint the uncolored pictures. The happy recipient (Bundell?) used crayons. For most pages there is a colorized page and the other had the picture with no color like a typical coloring book. Some of the later pages have a blank page and an uncolored page. The young artist is supposed to copy the picture and then color it in and those pages are blank and too stuck together to photograph.
To wrap this up the colorized preprinted art is quite nice. Also Peter Rabbit gets away but gets no dinner.
Super Peter Rabbit book fort, have a very Happy Easter!
Wow thats just evoked some distant memory that I had something very similar as a child. I recall my book being shaped like a rabbit, so maybe it was a later edition of the Peter Rabbit book. Very nice.
