1972 License Plates & More
Picked up a few more license plates for the garage. A pair of 1972 Iowa plates, and a couple of Oregon plates.
The Iowa plates are interesting and seem to be a low number. More research is needed, as I am not familiar with Iowa plates. I believe the 71 on the left refers to a county code(71=O'Brien county)? And I believe this plate style ran from 1972 to 74.
The Oregon plate with the small u, is a utility trailer or small boat trailer plate. The Turnbull Site** says, "one of the only non-passenger types of plate routinely made on the graphic tree bases used for passenger plates.

You can see with a little dish soap and an old toothbrush, you can clean up these old plates pretty good.
