I am researching my family history and these twins are my great grandmother and her sister. Born in 1900 in Carroll County Maryland, US, not too far from the port city of Baltimore Maryland. The family story says that they were so pretty that they were photographed for a cigar box label. Since there aren't many photos of them as babies and the ones we have from their early years are candid shots and this is clearly a more professional shot, I'm guessing that this may be the photo that was used for a cigar box. How we don't have an actual box is beyond my understanding but I don't believe one exists among the many descendants that are living today. If anyone can possibly tell me if you have ever seen a cigar box with this photo my family and I would be most grateful. Any details much appreciated. If we can locate an actual box that would be icing on the cake! thank you

Amazing to see early 20th century advertising of babies associated with smoking-- glad times have progressed!

Quick online searching shows Castle Hall cigars introduced a "twin" pack around the turn of the century.

Images show a distant view of a stork carrying babies:

      https://www.google.com/search?q=castle+hall+twin+cigars+babies&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjKrNryvfHvAhXJl1MKHalBCbwQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=castle+hall+twin+cigars+babies&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQA1DCpgFY_70BYJbDAWgAcAB4AIABX4gBmQiSAQIxMpgBAKABAaoBC2d3cy13aXotaW1nwAEB&sclient=img&ei=f3NwYIrxB8mvzgKpg6XgCw&bih=657&biw=1366&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS703US703

May be a route to research. Of course the twin pack, if popular, was probably copied by other companies.

      Good luck.

      scott
