This thing better be worth it...18hrs driving, 2 nites in a cheap motel, yada yada... <groan>
And they're lousy pics too for the moment, as getting it into the back of the truck and covered up was the priority at the moment, a process that got rudely interrupted by a brief downpour...<arrghhh>
Anyway. It is a solid walnut secretary with four primary drawers and spindle legs. Not seen here (already in the back seat) are its inner top, three small drawers and cubbies that fit inside, pull out supports for the drop front, and that actual front itself which has been missing for nearly 60 years.
How do I know that last little detail about the long gone drop front, you might ask? Well, because this piece, sans front, has been in my family the *entire* time *I've* been in my family...?? ;-) ;-) :-) :-) :-)
So with Mom and Dad downsizing again, it now gets its chance to follow me into my own home, finally joining all the rest of the stuff that came home a few years ago now from the farm. More-betterer pics and description will be forthcoming?!!

Wow, it's a beauty! Nice to know this is staying in your family.
I love that large chamfered top board on the back!
Nice to have a family piece.

Looks well made for the age and a piece to keep painters away from.
Thank you SO MUCH to jscott0363, scottvez, & fhrjr2 for your kind comments! Don't worry fhrjr2, the only paint that's getting near it is what's stored in the cabinet at the shop, where it will certainly remain *away* from my secretary! :-) :-)
More thanks to Newfld, jscott0363, dav2no1, fhrjr2, officialfuel, vetraio50, fortapache, & Watchsearcher for your <love it>s!!
