"Our Gang 80" Pirate Mug. I purchased this is in Twinsburg, Ohio. I am thrilled to find information about the company! I am interested in purchasing other items from this company as well. I see a few for sale on Ebay. I will continue the search!
I love pottery like this! Very cute. Over the years, I’ve come across a few pottery mugs that ended up being a pretty cool/known artist like five bridges “foot mug” and my ugly mug by Mahon that I use to clip with a biner to my backpack in college to be able to use everywhere I went! (Before I understood to care for my favorite belongings of course) glad you found info on the artist I’ll keep an eye out at my local thrift stores and flea markets for you, but Arkansas is far for a mug to travel!
Hi there! I just posted a mug I just bought that looks to be from the same place. Check it out - would love to know if you've learned anything more about Our Gang.
I met the Our Gang crew in the late’7o’s at the San Fernando Valley arts and crafts event called the Pumpkin Festival. I played in a ragtag group called the Half Fast Mountain Band and we played in front of the Our Gang booth. Apparently they liked us and they invited us to perform at their gallery opening in Laguna Beach. They didn’t have any money to pay us, though, so instead they had us pick and chose seconds from their workshop - bowls, coffee mugs, wizard candlestick holders, planters - and all these years later we still have and use some of them! Hopefully some of the Our Gang folks see this note and reach out - I’d love to share some stories that come to mind each time we use your long-lasting wares! Take care and hope to hear from you! P.S I’ll post some photos shortly…
