    This is a very big planter. it takes two people to move it even when empty. It kind of reminds me of the pot in the last photo which i took at Hearst Castle. I think i'll paint it that aqua/green color. Where do you think it is from?

      My knee-jerk was Gladding McBean, but clay color seems off. Can you tell if the rust coloration is in the clay, or from years of contact w/ iron-rich water? If coloration is on the surface, a q-tip dipped in CLR or Iron X should remove or substantially lighten it.

      that's what i thought at first. now, i'm leaning towards a mexican knock-off. i think the red is the clay.
