I need a little help with this 8 Day cuckoo clock. This is a Albert Schwab Cuckoo Clock, Very Large (18" Wide x 30" Tall). It is made by Albert Schwab (Karlsruhe) with a Regula movement marked GM 1649000, 1674539, 1704075, 1705294 / Made in Germany & a code of 34/1/76 in the middle of the movement. There is no letter on the movement, that other Regula movements have, which can tell the date made. But I assume that the movement is 1976 from the 34/1/76 code. Can anyone confirm the age of this clock or can explain the code 34/1/76 ?
Confuses me also, I wonder if it means 76 made and this is number 34 or at least something that makes more sense. 34 might also mean they lost track of time. Just kidding !~
Whatever the case its a master of a clock, a real beauty. Just needs some oil to bring back the shine. Gorgeous !~
Regula works were common to the clocks sold in the military PX. I brought some home in the 60's. None of mine had a letter to signify a date made that I recall but all had Regula works.
Gorgeous engraved design, lovely animals & trees
Agree with fhrjr2-- believe this one is a late 20th century clock.
