I’ve always liked Orlandini designs, but they were out of my price range. However, my luck changed and was able to snag this necklace online recently. My husband even liked it and said it’s the only Orlandini piece I will ever own...especially after looking up what he does today.
This measures 15.5” and weighs 39 grams. It has tiny rivets on the back so easily hold the scallop shape when wearing. I believe it’s circa 1960’s and of course, Italy.
Ms.CrystalShip Whoa...Valentino?!!!! What a prize! I often forget that many of the Design Houses were so modern back in the “old days”...especially the Italians. Was thrilled with my find and am thrilled for you on your Valentino! Sure would love to have one of their dresses...LOL...with nowhere to go!
valentino97 Thank you! One definitely knows it’s hanging on the neck! Now I will be hunting for earrings!
I love the mechanism look for this necklace somewhat like a form of undulating clouds rising and falling and very much a look of the 60's when some pieces resembled the lines of basic architecture. This is really a piece that makes a beautiful statement when you wear it. I love the Italians work also with some of the best like Bulgari whose favourite clients were the Burtons.
