A very awesome find, found at an estate sale and only paid $2 for it. Was very surprised at how much one like it sold for on Ebay, I believe it was $324 plus shipping. Love the hunting and also the researching.
Nice find. I have no idea what it is for, maybe you could share some of your research with the item post so that others (Like me) will get educated, I love to learn. Thanks. Lori
It is basically used for checking grain for things like moisture, not exactly sure about anything else. It is made up of two brass tubes that turn inside one another. A farmer would poke it into the grain then turn it half a round. Then they could check different levels of the grain. Probably used at grain elevators as well.
I should have added it is a Seedburo brand from 1912.
Thank you so much for your response and the information - very much appreciated. Lori

Wow what a deal ,I’ll take two of those also
thank God for those estate sales
This is one of those items that I wasn't looking for and don't collect but when I see something that sparks interest and is a steal I add it to my collection. In fact I wasn't even sure what it was but as many of my finds I enjoy researching and learning which is half the enjoyment of doing what I do.
