OK, this is just an educated guess, but...
The symbol at the top of the button, which looks like a T with a line on top, closely resembles the symbol of the Japanese post office. This rather skimpy article in Wikipedia provides some details, along with an image of the mark:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_postal_mark
Furthermore, the bird on the button closely resembles the traditional Japanese depiction of a hato (dove/pigeon), as seen in this kamon or family crest:
https://www.kamon18.com/cart/shop/0415.html
It would make sense to represent the Japanese postal service with a dove, since another word for that bird is 'pigeon' and those birds traditionally were used to carry messages.
So, although I have never seen a present-day Japanese postal uniform, or earlier ones for that matter, I suspect what you have here is a post office uniform button, and not a military button at all. That's as far down the rabbit hole as I'm prepared to go, but this may help to give you direction so that you can do further research on your own.
Thankyou so much.. Mr.rhineisfine ..
You are most welcome, Vikash :) Good hunting, and with luck maybe someone else will see this in the meantime and provide more info!
