I did not know until finding these recently that PEUGEOT made much of anything except cars that don't last too long in the USA. I guess I was kinda wrong about that...their Company history seems to show they made peppermills (and a wide-ish variety of other stuff) until they began making the cars, at which point some bit of Company division began amongst founding brothers, then settled over again later. Or somesuch convoluted something like that. (fine peppermills don't excuse the cars though, IMNSHO... <lol>)

This pair is about 7" tall and nice *bright red* in color, thus I couldn't resist them for the price from an estate sale. Both seem to work wonderfully with whatever leftover salt and pepper they had in them, I know how to get more whole peppercorns, but what kind of salt needs further ground? (and why?) Oh well, something to look for the next time I'm at the groceteria I guess...?
Pic 3 shows something that puzzled me at my first glance about the set -- how forzactly to tell which one is which -- the S or P on top of their brass knobs is the *only* way, beyond the different grinder mechanisms.
