In updating the original post I seem to have deleted it. I've found a temporary lamp base for the shade. I've placed it amongst an existing display of Tango Glass from assorted makers. You may recognise some.
Looks great! Peggy!..fits nicely..
The blue one’s are exceptional and that pink is hot !!!!
Beautiful choice of tango glass
@inky Thanks, Penny, it does. I like the height, which I may not get with a period lamp base.
Ahh, sublime.
Thanks vetraio, you've homed in on my favourites. I've owned the tall blue eight years and probably more and never got any where near IDing it. Bought at a vide grenier in France ...... 2 euros.
@Ivonne, Thanks Iwona, I'm pleased you like them together.
Ah Karen, Tango is so simple but so cheery. Now it can be lit in Tango style!
Looks really awesome. 2 euro for that beauty - makes me weep!
Peggy, this is one of the most stylish group shots of glass I've seen on CW!
The lamp shade looks stunning in use as well...
Wow22, oh dear, I wouldn't want to make anyone weep. Close up it is awesome. Very thin wall but two layers nevertheless. Clear over blue and not a cut rim. It was certainly made by a company that knew what they were doing.
Marin, thank you for your continuing support. I'm quite pleased with the lamp base and may just keep it and save myself the hassle of finding the real deal. Tango groups have a head start in the style stakes as they are uncluttered. Just shape and colour!
The gloss, the pink, the blue rim - I just love it!! And as I mentioned on FB, I think the lamp base looks great with it. It is simple, and lets the shade take center stage. :)
I agree, Michelle. Someone on FB recounted how she had searched for a Deco lamp base for four years, but to no avail. That says a lot.
