Maybe these are eggplants or some other weird veggie, but they look like loofas to me. Unmarked celadon chopstick rests in their original box.

they really luffa sponges. it's a common theme for chopstick rests, i guess.
Immature luffas are edible while they are very small. I’ve never tried it, but have read about it. :-)
i didn't know that Watchsearcher, and i've seen them grown before. they don't seem very appealing as food though.
