Here is a 2 1-2"H x 3"W amber glass squirrel on an amberina tree stump open salt server designed by Harold Bennett for Guernsey Glass of Cambridge OH ca 1970s. There is a B imprint for Bennett on lower (L) side of the stump
That's cool..
Reminds me of Sandy from SpongeBob fame, the colour reaches dramatic proportions here !~
Cute- at first I thought this was a monkey stealing some fruit, now I see it's a squirrel and he's trying to steal some acorns! XD I must say though I don't think I've ever seen an open salt cellar? I'm used to the salt shaker type ones...I didn't know there were open ones like this! I also love the deep reddish amber orange tones of it and combined with the squirrel it all reminds me of autumn
Such a cute little squirrel Jenni!
Many thanks for the love

Thanks Dave for your great comment, it is rather a cool piece with the little squirrel pulling at the tree trunk, kinda different but serves its purpose well
Lol Phil, I have seen Sandy the squirrel from the Spongebob cartoon, very cute comparison and this one does look like a similar mischief maker! The bright reddish tree trunk adds quite the dramatic touch to this piece
Lauren this squirrel absolutely is behaving like a troublesome monkey pulling on that tree, I often see squirrels in my yard acting oddly - they go crazy in Spring looking for nuts they buried before the winter freeze, and leaving little holes everywhere! Yes open salts were a vintage thing, I'm used to the shakers myself, so in a case like this I would use the space to hold sugar or sweetener packets most likely, or to use the squirrel as a handle to pour syrup etc. Marvelous comment and yes, an autumn vibe here
Thanks Scott for your super comment he is quite a lil cutie! The carving of the squirrel and tree were very nicely made, I love when a small piece like this shows lots of detail
I have never seen a salt like it before, and yes! it's a Sandy salt.
Very cool glass.
Thanks Karen & Alfie for the thoughtful love, it's so nice of you both and always warmly appreciated
Karen thank you for your lovely comment, yes it is quite a silly little Sandy squirrel the Spongebob critter! And he is a very cool little thing attacking that big tree stump, I think he is quite brave :)
Such a unique salt dish! Great find
Thanks to you all for the love
