Attn: the things people throw away dept., Cc: always glance into the handy dumpster dept.

This just came along this afternoon -- I don't yet know a whole lot of anything about it other than 'what you see is what I've got'.

It is a solar powered flashing beacon LED light with blue fresnel lens, made by Carmanah Technologies Inc., model 601. The briefest of internet searches shows it (or something very, very similar) to be a "Marine Hazard Light", though this one is clearly labeled "AVIATION"...I'm not sure what's up with that, yet.

Once I got it home and got to looking closer, it managed to put out one or two tiny little flashes while sitting under my desk for a little while, so I took it outside for half an hour or so of the remaining evening sun. Here shortly I'll take it to the bedroom with me and turn it back on to see if it does anything in a truly dark room...tomorrow I'll find it a sunny spot to sit all day and see if it does anything differently...??

I DO likes me some blinkie-light-thingies...this *could* end up being a fun new addition to the collections of those I've already got, if it works? (or if I can get it to work??)

Who wouldn't want one of these? I hope you can make it work.
