1930s Art Deco saved from being sent to the dump. Substantial case restoration, which will never be perfect (due to prolonged moisture damage). Stripped gears that by chance I had saved in storage, and binding in the movement at many points. So now it all works to spec, deep rich tones from the chimes. A little piece of history made functional and reasonably attractive again. Took 2 weeks including casework.

Thanks for all your generous comments, much appreciated. There was a substantial amount of luck involved with this restoration, simply having the correct hardware in storage was a major factor. Thinking of spare parts from around 1930 relating to a relatively obscure item and you get it :) I have an aversion to discarding something if I see genuine potential, and sometimes that works.
