This little bell has no monetary value, but it is one of my dearest little treasures.
In 1985, my dad had a stroke that took him from us six months later.
His left side was paralyzed, and we decided to care for him at home. The task was undertaken by my mom, husband and myself.
This little bell was what he used to call us, whenever he needed something, wanted to talk, or just needed a bit of company.
For a couple of years after he passed, we could still hear the little bell in our minds, and still today, 26 years later, I try to keep it from tolling when I clean it.
My oldest daughter, who was 14 months old when he passed, would hear him call and lift a finger and say "pana belo", which is spanish child talk for "campana abuelo" or "grandpa bell" and run to his room to see how he was.
The first thing she would do in the morning is run to greet him.
This bell brings back so many memories, I wanted to share the love it brings me with you

Beautiful story and beautiful bell! I’m so glad he was able to stay at home with his loved ones.
