Hello everyone!!
A new addition to my collection is this antique Great Dane pen wipe French ink bottle. Every aspect of this Great Dane is so nicely detailed. The pen wipe bristles are still in really good condition. This one has an ink bottle holder attached to his side as well with an original French ink bottle. The ink bottle label reads "Encre Joly" (Joly Ink) and "Noire Fixe Extra" (Black Fixed Extra). He's made of spelter and measures 7" long and 2 3/4" tall.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Love this Scott, you have a wonderful collection of Hares, Rabbits, Pigs, dogs etc etc.
Love Great Danes lovely dogs. Unfortunately I lost my spotty dog Pongo a couple of weeks ago broke my heart. He had a good life 14, but lonely without him. So from 6 dogs I’m now down to 2, a Spanish water dog and a Patterdale. Feels lonely.
Jean,
Thank you so very much!! I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dear Pongo. We have three girls, a longhair Dachshund, a Mountain Cur and a German Shepherd. We love them all so much. We've lost 3 male smooth coat Dachshunds over the past 29 years. One was nearly 16, one was almost 15 and one did of unknown causes when he was just slightly over a year old. It's always so very hard when we lose one of our sweet dogs. So, I feel your pain.

Gorgeous Great Dane figure and useful as well - super find Scott
I agree that bottle will be just fine. This puppy is very serious. I'm just warning you that you better not do him wrong, his calm demeanor hides a more turbulent nature! {hope you take this the way it was intended} this pup is a very nice addition to the family. I am sure he would be on guard to watch you and yours all night. LORI :}
Jenni,
Thanks so very much!! He sits atop my wife's vintage secretary, but only for aesthetic purpose.
Hi Lori!
Thank you so very much!!! I do know exactly what you mean. My niece and her husband got a Great Dane puppy and he was a cutie. But, he grew very quickly and soon he became aggressive and far too much for them to handle in their home, especially with their small children. He now belongs to a friend of theirs who owns a farm.

Thank you all so very much for the loves, the wonderful comments and for stopping by!!
I absolutely adore every piece you post, Scott! The ink bottle pairs rather nicely with the Great Dane, for it does not distract one's eyes from admiring the remarkable details on this little whelp.
Recently, on eBay, I saw a reasonably priced cold-painted chocolate Boxer affixed to a (possibly) baccarat inkwell, and I forgot to tell you!
MarmorealMaiden,
Thank you so much for the very kind compliment!!! I only own 2 inkwells. Most all I see are way overpriced. Once in a while I'll get an amazing bargain, like I did on the two I own. Thanks again very much!!!!!

He's definitely got some age to him. I have his original French ink bottle (still looking for it). And yes, Lori makes me smile quite often.
