This is a really neat tool used to open cigar boxes. It is nickel plated so it probably is from the 20's or early 30's. The pointed end with the notch in it is to wedge open the cigar boxes and the notch is to pluck the brad (nail), that held the box closed. At the other end is a hammer to replace the nail or remove it from the box, and another wedge, also probably to open the box . It has a pearl inlaid handle. No name on it anywhere, but, you can see by it's construction and intricate workmanship, it most likely was a expensive tool.
That's in very good shape. Nice find..
Well, isn't this a neat little tool. I would have never guessed how it's used had I not read your write up. Very cool!!!
