This glass tumbler is about 4.25" high x 3" in diameter. The base is very thick which makes this tumbler pretty heavy and very stable. I think it was made by either Pilgrim Glass Corporation or by Blenko Glass Company. Both companies made these pinched glass tumblers, though Blenko is probably better known for doing so. This was $1.99 thrift shop find today. It was incredibly dirty and I still working to remove the stains from the inside of the tumbler and making slow but certain headway. I even tried rubbing alcohol with some minor success. It may just take a day or two of soaking to get it clean. No idea what it was used for, but it left a stubborn residue.

I always have my eye out for odd tumblers. Several years ago, I found a dozen, or so, mismatched and very unusual tumblers in a lot at at thrift shop. I used them all as a glass to set beside my sink for a quick drink of water and down to the last one when I realized that someone in the past did what I am doing now, looking for odd, one off drinking glasses. Too bad I did not figure it out before I was down to the last glass. I became much more careful and the last tumbler has been sitting on my kitchen sink for about five years, but I have a line up of odd ball successors in my kitchen cabinet waiting for their debut. This tumbler has become one of them.

Thanks for your comment, mikelv85. I am still on the fence in identifying the maker, but have seen some very similar Blenko and Sorgente glasses. I am guessing the treatment of the base may help to identify it if I can find some labelled examples.

Thanks for loving my glass mikelv85 and AnythingObscure!
