A few weeks ago I showed this pair of old organ pipe storage trays here, with the promise that I'd had an idea of something more fun to do with them than storing organ pipes... ;-)

So here they are, on their way to a new purpose in my life -- I've already got the wall picked out, and as soon as I decide exactly how I might like them on it, these are gonna get lag bolted to it and become "CURIO SHELVES" !!! :-) :-) :-) It ain't like I don't have way-plenty of "curios" to fill 'em up with...?? <LOL>
All it took, of course, were a bunch of little steel L-brackets spray painted black and screwed inside the trays to hold the glass shelves. Those 'shelves' as matter of fact started their life as window panes in a jalousie screen door *many* years ago, I saved them when the door was gonna go away and they've been taped together sitting somewhere in a stack ever since. Its about time I actually *used* them, too?!! It is just a happy accident that they're the same width as the trays are deep, my initial idea was hoping that they'd fit inside the trays across their narrow dimension but they were 3" or so too long, so I decided to run them horizontally in irregular spacing instead.
Please pardon the photo background, these were taken this afternoon when I finished assembling the 2nd one (after having to get more brackets than I had on hand) when they're just propped up amongst the other piles of crap in the carport...hoping nothing would suddenly tip over unexpectedly and smash half my 'shelves' before I ever get anything on 'em...thankfully the gravity behaved! :-)
Once I get them put up and initially filled I'll show more pics and tell the story of where they came from and yada yada...here's a clue...

What a great idea :)
A perfect use for them all!
