This 2 1-4"L goldtone seahorse brooch has real amethyst gemstones and one round garnet eye in a natural design. Signed Swoboda Inc, their original seahorse design from the 1970s. Co founded by Edward Swoboda in Los Angeles CA ca 1956-1985. A welcome addition to my seahorse jewelry collection
I love this seahorse!! The color is awesome!!
love this one - I can't get over the way Swoboda used real gems and how wonderful they are. Very nice, great addition to your collection Jenni.
Oh my!! Look at the beauty of this amazing seahorse brooch. The cut of the amethyst stones are gorgeous. Such great detail brings life to the piece!!!!
Oooh- my favorite of your uploads this week! Seahorses are so pretty anyway, and really delicate and yours captures that , and yours just happens to be the most delicate colour of lilac. I imagine her gliding very peacefully through the waters of a tropical lagoon...:P
Nice detail on this one... '-))
Love this little guy :-)
The meatalwork on this brooch is so well done! All the little seahorsey bits.
Purple always wins too :)
The lavender on this design was the winning combo !~
Fantastic seahorse! I love it.
Thanks to all for the seahorse love

Scott thanks a bunch for your super comment, isn't that a great pale amethyst color it just glowed when put near a sunny window. Always a treat to find Swoboda's natural gemstones they were so creative about using them
Thanks so much Lori for the lovely words, I know you are a Swoboda fan as well, that brand constantly amazes with their pretty figurals & gemstone placement. This original seahorse design by them had a round eye, later versions had an elongated eye & were marked Swo Inc. Yes it's a super addition to my seahorse collection
Thank you FreshAir for your wonderful praise, isn't it true how the rough cut of the amethyst stones brings a liveliness to this seahorse, it also came in peridot green but since I'm a purple lover this was my fave (as a teenager I remember painting my room this very color!)
Lauren I am truly thrilled that you liked this post the best of my quartet, you know I love seahorse jewelry & collect it, but this Swoboda piece is so striking for its realistic design that it's instantly my favorite. The bony plate skeletal frame is perfectly real, you can definitely imagine this sneaky seahorse gliding in the water quietly until he finds smaller fish food, they are very deceptively peaceful fish! The lilac shade of amethyst is also great, thank you for your observant & fantastic comment
Thank you LazyBoy for your very fine comment & observ, I agree that the maker of this seahorse paid great attention to detail
Mani thank you for your sweet comment, this lil swimmer is quite lovable I agree, there is something so gentle about seahorses they are always appealing in any art form
Thanks dear Karen for your fabulous praise & noticing the best parts of this seahorse. If it weren't for the lovely purple color it almost looks alive right - that frame, that curled tail! I can't help it, I have alot of these fish in jewelry but little in glass (the one in my profile pic) but I aim to find some of those in future
Phil you are so right, hands down the lavender amethyst stones were clearly the prettiest for this seahorse. Awesome insight thank you so much!
Many thanks Andrea for your terrific praise and enjoying this seahorse, it was a great find for me & I'm so happy that you found it fantastic
Many thanks for the love Daisy, I'm so glad you enjoyed this real gemstone Swoboda seahorse & am very grateful for the support
