Doesn’t react to a magnet and looks pretty old - any ideas ?

Brass metal, maybe with silver colored plating now worn off in spots?? (whether 'on purpose' or via natural usage wear) How big is it, looks just a few inches across??

I agree that it's very cool no matter any of that, the red stones are wonderful -- if it was mine, it'd definitely live someplace where it'd be seen!! :-) :-) :-)

Yes it's two inches across and one inch down. As I look at the stones they look more orange than red. Thank you for responding!!

As to cleaning it, I'd start with warm water/dish soap/soft brush gently, to remove any actual dust and dirt on it - then re-assess and maybe experiment with a little silver polish on the bottom to see what'd happen with that. Frankly I like it a lot looking just like it is . . . ?? ;-) :-) :-)

You are right, it does look good the way it is. I have googled red stone and it may be Tibetan Red Coral. Very interesting piece for sure! Thank. you.
