Silver Sheffield Cadelabra
These candelabra have been on the dining room table probably longer than I have been alive. One of the pieces I decided to keep after mom passed away.
**Sorry disregard the extra junk on the dining room table! Still clearing mom's stuff.**
They haven't been polished in a decade or more and were showing signs of pitting and corrosion..
My sister was cleaning some antique jewelry that we had bought for our etsy store(NOWVI @ etsy). So I made her dip these candelabra. So they are now ready for some fine polishing to bring them back to their original beauty. There are some areas that are still looking pretty bad and are lost.
They are silver plated. Do not clean them with abrasives. Repeated polishing will destroy very thin layer of silver deposited by electroplating process to base metal which will show if superficial layer of silver is destroyed.
Thanks for the advice. I figured it was plated since I didn't see silver marks where they should be.
