Blade is 7.25". Head is 8" from head to blade. There is a partial maker's mark on the curved side of the head, as pictured. The mark seems to have an arched name, with a horizontal line below it. Tried rubbing it but no luck.

When found, it was covered in rust. Used a liquid rust remover which preserved the mark vs. using an abrasive to remove the rust.

Invert your picture to a negative and you should be able to read most of it.

fhrjr2 - that helped a bit, but only to see the lower-right word is "steel." That probably means the word to the left is "forged" or ?? Thanks!
