traffic control (on my patio)

Here's some more of the (formerly) discarded 'traffic stuff' cluttering up the patio. Amongst the not-yet-cleaned-up leaves and pine needles (hey, its not quite June yet?) pic 1 shows a wider look with assorted orange cones, five 'reflective lane stalks' (not sure what those are really called?), a plastic barricade, and my full size signal control cabinet at the RH side.

Pic 2 is a pair of the stalks, these things (like the little lane reflectors shown yesterday) simply glue to the pavement and are also designed to be semi-expendable, they came from a row that got installed somewhere common sense shortly proved they never should have been put in the first place. Once more, like the reflectors, I simply "picked up the litter" afterward... ;-)

Pic 3 is the full front view of my big traffic signal controller cabinet and #4 is what's inside with its door open. Technically this is called a "12 phase Type TS-1" cabinet (iirc) and would be capable of running a full intersection with up to 12 movements (vehicles, pedestrians, turn lanes, whatever) depending on the programming inside the black box at its upper center. The technology here dates to the 1970's or 80's but truly isn't really yet completely obsolete, many cabinets-ful of similar equipment still work 24/7 all over anywhere roads go. The cabinet equipment is also built and wired to a certain "NEMA standard" that allows all the inner components to be readily compatible with others of the same or different manufacture, to facilitate easy exchanges when and if required. I don't yet have any actual signal lights hooked up to this, (still in the plans, along with a RxR crossing post) which will ultimately result in a whole new layer of wiring in the bottom, hooked up to all those terminal screws down there. I obtained this cabinet from a fellow collector in Texas, it served its time 'on the street' in Ohio, I think.
