My family farmed in New York since the 1700s this salesman moldel has been around forever. Top and bottom rail boards are broken, but gate action still works.

Nice salesman demo. Is there a full size model still on a fence in your area?

Never had one of these gates on our farm in my live time. No one knows anything about it

Do you have the patent? Your title suggests knowledge of the patent files. Is there anything written on the gate? Name? Patent No? Date?

I have no patent or name I can see that there was a paper label on the bottom board, just a scrap of it left nothing readable.

That’s unfortunate. There are over 900 gate patents that I am aware of. Finding yours would be a crapshoot at best. It’s possible that a patent was denied because the gate is too much like an existing patent. I have a couple of models with unreadable labels. That doesn’t lower the historical value. Just adds to the mystery.
