Hello Friends - Bought this print at the flea recently, lovely image from a painting by Bernardino Liuni (who studied under da Vinci), Vergine Mariathe, original in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Milan. An interesting aside (see pic): The print is backed on an old Pittsburgh advertising poster: Rosenbaum Co downtown which closed in 1977. The building is depicted; I understand the building still stands. I've added a postcard showing the Rosenbaum Co store.
The original painting is by Bernardino Luini
The title is la Vergine Mariathe =Virgin Mary.
The Milanese painter Bernardino Luini was a student of Leonardo da Vinci.
Thank you for the information, mo.kunst!!! I really appreciate it.
