I haven't seen a ship's wheel with stones before but don't be amazed you know my jewellery experience is pretty limited. I have only seen enamel ones so this one with those gorgeous baguettes really attracts me!
Mmm...nothing better than items with a nautical theme, and it's really sweet that your paying tribute to your dad this way. I adore the detail and the colours on this little ships helm- they're such a pretty object anyway, reminds me of the days of tall ships(I have a very rosy way of looking at tall ships and the days of old fashioned ships!) and your little helm really evokes that! :P

You are so right Karen, most all the ship's wheel jewelry I've ever seen has been enamel as well, so to find this with the pretty blue stones was a delight! Aren't the baguettes on the wheel turns cool, that was some creative thinking by Monet. Thank you for your fantastic praise
I agree Lauren that nautical themes are really great, and I love the older ships with wheels shaped like this as well - hey, I even like fantasy boats like in Jason & Argonauts where they put a goddess image at the front (prow? I'm not a seafarer lol). Yes it is nice to find nautical items in remembrance of my dad, you know he was a midwesterner where there was no water so the Navy taught him how to swim.
