Interesting and well made armchair with matching ottoman. Found in Nova Scotia, Canada, this large scale chair’s design incorporates, Arts and Crafts, MCM, Windsor and Cottage influences and appears to date from the 1930/40s. I have never seen another.
I hate that they made these along with chairs so short we need to be a little person to use these any more. There are probably a lot of styles you never accessed and have to be a little creative there. The internet is still relatively new so it will never have everything in it. Books do, but even that info can be scattered I found from being a book dealer, and to keep on top of it I had to order from many different publishers. Of IMPORTANT note is that your rocker looks to be an amagalgamation of styles so there are elements of various styles in your rocker. A lot of furniture makers put their own spin on their furniture and most makers left absolutely no records of their companies, so finding one for yours would be mainly in records of companies who left none, which is about 97% of makers. The arms alone on yours are similar to Morris chairs and armchairs. To start you can look at Morris arm chairs, early American, American colonial style are just to name a few of the many you can start with !~
