In today's bonus edition we feature a Matchbox Box!

A long time ago I went to a matchbox event at K-Mart. At this event they brought out unopened boxes of Hot Wheels. They then proceeded to open boxes in front of the crowd. There was a lottery type event where you got a number. The number was the order that you got to go through the boxes. Looking at the box...I belive this was 1999?

Of course I was late and being a newbie collector I didn't really know much. I thought cars were just toys to play with. I was there because it seemed like a fun event. I had no idea so many people would be there! They all had papers with lists of cars they were looking for.

I actually waited until everyone was done, then I looked through the boxes. Which actually worked out for me because the people that had already left, got the wrong price! So I got all my cars for a dollar each and got to keep the Box.
