“Black Diamond” Hematite Jewelry

One of the very first pieces of jewelry I owned was a “Black Diamond” or Hematite ring. I would not hear the word “hematite” for more than a decade after first seeing that ring; but I would have preferred the name “black diamond,” anyway. Black Diamond or Hematite jewelry continues to fascinate me — whether it is set in gold tone metal, like the (possibly Coro and 1960s-70s) first matched group in this post; or set in sterling — which is where one seems to discover most such jewelry in 2021; or set in 14k gold — as my long ago ring was … is.
