Wonderful Royal Doulton 1915 plate

This is a beautiful plate that we bought about two months ago for about 20 U$ to Mario Celis... it is hand painted over a transfer and gilted with great skill ...
It is in a very good state of conservation despite being over a hundred years old since it was made in 1915 as can be seen in low relief on the reverse of the plate, this date is consistent with the seal that the lion and the crown have that is used from 1901 to 1922. The facts about Spaulding and Co. are interesting…. Most of all because as most pieces of our collection has been acquired in Córdoba, Argentina. Spaulding & Co Chicago
On the very useful site http://www.thepotteries.org/mark/b/brown.html it is stated that “Henry A. Spaulding was best known as the treasurer of the American Committee for the Statue of liberty. Spaulding was a jeweler who first worked for Marshal Fields in Chicago and later for Tiffany's in New York . He soon headed Tiffany's branch in Paris . It was there that he decided to open his own firm, Spaulding & CO. Chicago, which became well known in Chicago and in Paris where he had branches.” So it is a plate done by Doulton for Spaulding….and sold most probably in Paris…
