These small plates are 4" in diameter x .625" high and together weigh 6.5 ounces. They have a Bovano label which dates them to the 1950s or 1960s. According to Bovano's web site, they are made by fusing French and US glass enamels over copper. A thrift shop find today for $.99 each. These are much more beautiful than my images show. I will get better pictures when we have a sunny day.

Bovano has been in business since 1952 and has a web site:

    "what we do
    Welcome to Bovano of Cheshire!

Here you will find beautiful, hand crafted home decorations created by using a century-old method of fusing fine powdered glass enamel to copper. All our pieces are made locally in Connecticut for more than 65 years by our talented artisans! We specialize in wall sculptures, tabletop pieces and custom, one-of-a-kind statements made to order using a variety of materials such as glass enamels, copper, brass, bronze, steel and stainless steel. Our primary process consists of sifting various colors of French and US made enamels over carefully formed copper bases. The two are fused in 1600F degree ovens to become one. As the glass melts it becomes smooth and translucent and transforms into the pieces you see here! The brilliant colors will never fade and each Bovano piece will become the center of conversation in any home!
