This belongs to my father. It appears to have been damaged and glued back together. I was going to try and restore it but wondered if it would be better to leace it alone. Any advice?

Very nice chair, If you do restore it make sure the cracked back receives some special attention. Overall the chair shape is in the savonarola style with adjustments so it has more normal looking feet. They usually made this very antique style with 20th century or 19th century legs and feet, but then so many styles became a mixture of styles, most companies did their own take on style. It's a beaute !~
Thanks for the info Phil. I have never restored a wooden chair like this before only recovered and painted dining chairs. Do you have any tips that might be helpful with the repair to the cracked back? Thanks
Unfortunately not, just make sure it does not appear cracked if you try to sell, as a bad job can affect greatly.
