This Fenton cobalt cat is about 3.75" high x 3" long x 2.5" wide with a ground base. It has a Fenton mark on the back which has a mold flaw that obscures the center of the mark. I think I can just make out an "8" for 1980s at the bottom of the mark. I do not see much Fenton glass that has a ground base, since most of their glass was molded. I believe that ground bottom shows that this is a factory second, possibly due to the muddy Fenton mark. Thrift shop find for $1.00 today.

I went to three thrift shops and spent about $20 which netted me a surprisingly large pile of neat stuff I do not need. Two DVDs, were part of the haul, first was the complete set of the Kolchak: The Night Stalker TV series, which I think I already have somewhere, but for $1.99 it was a good insurance policy. The other was The Beiderbeck Affair, a 1980s English amateur detective series which I have never heard of. Also another Kosta Boda snowball candle holder and a pretty old Scovill oil lamp. I definitely don't need any more oil lamps but this one is really fancy molded glass and only cost $5 with its original Queen Anne No. 2 burner. Also four new boxes of Crayola crayons. I have put together a little chest of American made writing/drawing supplies, just because, No . 2 pencils, Pearl erasers, etc., chalk. crayons, etc., in case China puts some of these old American companies out of business. The chalk is actually real Hagoromo chalk which is no longer made.

Great find Kevin! He is Fenton's sitting cat #5165, I have him in the ruby red - a very handsome pose, one of their best cats

That is one cool cat- I definitely see him in some late night jazzy bar on a city corner somewhere... :P His lovely deep blue colour is the best, he's a great find for such a bargain!

Thanks for your comments and the information, Jenni! I like this one a lot. The thrift shop where I found it is pretty rough and they have a lot of junk so I was surprised to find this there and in perfect condition.

Thanks for your comments LaurenRedmond! He is pretty cool! I love finding pieces like this cheap and always have trouble passing up on a piece of Fenton glass.

Thanks for loving my latest glass cat Thomas, Alfie21,

Thanks for your comments, Eileen! I have trouble passing up a nice piece of Fenton glass. Fenton milk glass inherited from my mother and grandmother is was started my glass collection. I have not seen either of the movies that you mentioned, but both are now on my radar.
